Enjoyed this! Is it just me or is basically the only kind of tamarind available in london that one hectic looking purple jar or the clear flimsily plastic coated one with the paper stuck inside the fibres? I don’t think I’ve seen anything else

thank u!!! and no, me too. the tamarind paste i think has some sort of acid/vinegar type preservative which just kills the fruitiness of tamarind for me. so the plastic-coated one is what i make do with. unless thai grocery stores may have something better?
